MARIKA MAKER, ROCK FIT LLC SUES J.C. PENNEY AND HANES FOR DESIGN PATENT INFRINGEMENT
(Los Angeles, CA.)-- Rock Fit LLC, the maker of popular Marika brand shape enhancing active wear, filed two separate lawsuits against J.C. Penney and Hanes alleging that they each copied a unique patented design for Marika’s shape enhancing products. Rock Fit is a Los Angeles based manufacturer of Marika brand women’s body shaping active wear. Marika brand apparel is specifically designed to enhance the female figure and create a firm and slim impression. In recent years, Rock Fit has applied for over twenty and received eight patent registrations for active wear designs.
Frank Zarabi, Chief Executive Officer of Rock Fit explains that Marika’s active wear designs have become so popular, they have unfortunately encouraged others to offer copycat products to consumers. When asked to explain why the lawsuits were filed now, Mr. Zarabi stated: “ In order to protect our designs, we are unfortunately going to have to let the marketplace know that we are commencing a campaign to enforce our Patent rights. We do not relish this fact, but we have no choice. Many years of hard work, dedication and innovation went into our designs as well as a strong financial commitment. We will not tolerate any infringements".
